As a Cap Corps Volunteer, you will:

  • Serve as a full-time volunteer at a community-based organization, parish or school.
  • Practice your spirituality through common prayer with your community, retreats and work with a spiritual director.
  • Explore social justice and Catholic Social Teaching by analyzing your day-to-day experience with your community and the Capuchin Franciscans.
  • Commit to a sustainable lifestyle in community with 2 - 4 other Cap Corps volunteers.

To support you, Cap Corps will:

  • Provide for your basic needs (housing, food, health care, transportation) and the opportunity to earn an AmeriCorps Education Award.  Loan deferment or forbearance is typcially available for volunteers, depending on the provider.

  • Offer orientation and three retreats throughout the year to encourage the deepening of your spirituality and commitment to social justice.

  • Connect you to the network of Capuchin-Franciscans and their partners in ministry who are attending to basic human needs and promoting justice throughout the Midwest and Central America.

Transform your world!
